Those who miss watching the outrageous antics of pop diva Whitney Houston and ex-husband Bobby Brown on Bravo’s Being Bobby Brown, may well get the chance to see the two music stars acting out again in real life if new rumors prove to be true.
Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that some inside Whitney Houston’s inner circle are buzzing that the reformed songstress and her ex just might be reuniting. According to the story, Houston and Brown have been spotted across Georgia in recent days enjoying romantic dinners which has only fueled speculation that their tempestuous relationship is once again back on track.
However, the official word from Houston’s camp that the now divorced couple have no plans to get back together, but “remain good friends whose primary interest is the well-being of their daughter.’
Whitney Houston’s relationship with Bobby Brown is among those discussed in a new tell-all book by music mogul David Foster.
According to Foster, he didn’t see even a “hint” of drug use by Whitney Houston in the years that worked with her but says that she did appear to have a something of an addiction when it came to her ex-husband.
“She and hubby Bobby Brown certainly seemed addicted to each other… When Bobby was gone, she’d begin to fade,” Foster writes.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Whitney Houston will release her first album of original material since 2002 later this year, BMG Label Group chairman/CEO Clive Davis said Thursday.
Four songs have been completed for the as-yet-untitled project, and four more will be put to tape later this month, Davis said during Billboard’s Music & Money Symposium at New York’s St. Regis Hotel.
“We’re on track for a holiday release,” he said. “We’re not going to compromise who she is to fit into today’s hip-hop radio market. The public wants Whitney material.”
Tracks earmarked for the album have been produced or written by Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am, producer/songwriter Sean Garrett and R&B singer Akon.
Houston, 44, has been dogged in recent years by drug and health issues — including rehab stints in 2004 and 2005 — a legal dispute with her father, John Houston, rumored financial problems and a troubled marriage to fellow singer Bobby Brown that ended in divorce.
Her last album, “Just Whitney,” debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 in December 2002, and quickly slipped down the rankings. It was her first release since 1998’s “My Love Is Your Love.”
ONE-LISTEN VERDICT: The question “how does one make Whitney Houston musically relevant to those who only know her from Being Bobby Brown?” has apparently been answered with one word: “Akon.” Over the weekend, a teaser single from her allegedly forthcoming album released, and the fact that it was assisted vocally by last year’s No. 1 collaborator brought up two troubling things: First, Whitney’s record company is apparently angling for the 44-year-old singer to go “young” for her forthcoming album; and second, it’s hard at times to tell the difference between the diva’s voice and that of her younger foil.
“Like I Never Left” was apparently semi-deliberately leaked as “incentive” for Houston to finish her album, and I hope that the leaking means there are better tracks in the offing. Because while “Left” is a Mimi-styled piece of featherweight pop that’s marked by Houston’s still-impeccable phrasing, there are a few obvious—and unfortunately—AutoTune punch-ins that overshadow a lot of her interpretation. If this mask-the-imperfections-at-any-cost route is the direction that the rest of Whitney’s album will go in, it’s a sorry denouement to what was at once one of the brightest careers in pop.
